Noticing too much negative space on your face lately?
Try the facial negative space makeup trick. With a few easy steps, you can visually shrink those blank areas.
Skip the heavy eyeliner
1. First, grab an eyeliner that creates soft, natural depth. The Took Waterproof Slim Eyeliner in Coco Earl Grey is perfect for this.
2. Tightline along the roots of your lashes, then extend the tail straight out to subtly draw attention sideways.
3. From just above the wing and the outer edge of your iris, add a light, straight line along the lower lash area to boost dimension.
4. Lightly shade your aegyo-sal (the natural under-eye fullness) like an underline to make your eyes look wider.
The gold standard for reducing blank space: overlined lips
1. Want a shorter philtrum effect? Focus on adding volume to the upper lip. Slightly overline your lip shape.
2. Overlining the bottom lip can also make your chin area look shorter.
Delete extra space with blush and contour
1. Blush placed too far out can make your face look wider. Keep blush toward the inner cheeks.
2. Use the Took Water-Cream Watercolor Blush in W04 Giggly to fill the mid-to-lower face area. Its soft payoff makes it effortless.
3. With the same line in W10 Soft Sculpt, add subtle shading to the nose tip, between the brows, and inner corners to pull focus to the center.
4. Finish by applying a brightener to smile lines, the glabella, and the front of the cheeks to make the center of the face look lifted.
That’s it—your facial negative space deletion makeup is done. You’re ready to head out looking elevated and refined.
