Actors Lee Soo-kyung (29) and Kim Yoon-woo (25) ignited a thrilling romance that jumps a four-year age gap.
In episode 4 of ENA’s Monday–Tuesday drama Doctor on the Edge, which aired on the 9th, nurse Eom Jeong-seon (played by Lee Soo-kyung) and Yong Ju-cheon (Kim Yoon-woo) — who always bickered whenever they met — shocked viewers by unexpectedly spending the night together, fueling curiosity about where their romance is headed.
This episode also revealed Eom Jeong-seon’s hidden loneliness behind her usually bold, upbeat exterior, drawing sympathy from viewers. Even after her mother sent a lovingly prepared care package, she couldn’t bring herself to tell her public health clinic coworkers it was her birthday and ended up spending the time alone. Just then, Yong Ju-cheon came by to return a phone they had accidentally swapped, and the two wound up sharing an unplanned dinner, creating undeniable chemistry.
The flutter and tension carried into the next morning. A shocking scene showed Yong Ju-cheon waking up at Eom Jeong-seon’s home. Mindful of the rumor mill in the small island village of Pyeongdong-do, Eom told the flustered Yong, "Let’s forget what happened yesterday," trying to keep her cool. Later, however, she casually sought advice about relationships from colleague Yuk Ha-ri (played by Shin Ye-eun), laying bare her complicated feelings and heightening expectations for how their relationship might change.
Meanwhile, Doctor on the Edge, which follows the unpredictable romances of upbeat island youths, airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. KST and is also available on Genie TV and Disney+.
