Netflix’s series The East Palace has locked its premiere date for July 17.

The East Palace follows Gucheon (played by Nam Joo-hyuk), who can cross into the realm of gwi (ghosts), and a court lady named Saenggang (played by Roh Yoon-seo), who hides a secret. Summoned by the king (Cho Seung-woo), they set out to unravel the curse haunting the East Palace. As they close in on the mystery consuming the court, the tension and immersion only intensify.

The poster released on the 12th shows Gucheon bound by ropes, his feet dipped in an ink-black pond. An eerie, ominous red aura creeps toward him, instantly grabbing attention.

The chilling tagline “Beyond the boundary of reality, into the world of ghosts” heightens curiosity about the narrative of The East Palace.

The project is also drawing buzz as Nam Joo-hyuk’s first Netflix series since completing military service. Transforming into Gucheon, he’s poised to deliver a deeper performance, slashing down specters and unveiling an all-new charisma.

Roh Yoon-seo takes on the role of Saenggang, a court lady who can hear ghosts, promising a striking transformation. The king who summons Gucheon and Saenggang is played by Cho Seung-woo, expected to anchor the drama and enrich the story.

Even the poster drop alone has fans buzzing over the confirmed premiere date for The East Palace, with reactions like “If all I’m waiting for is this, will you believe me?” and “How could you not watch Cho Seung-woo and Nam Joo-hyuk?”
