Actor Do-hee Min just closed out a part-time cafe job she quietly held for over a year — a candid reveal that’s sparking buzz as she opens up about her hiatus, why she took the gig, and how it changed her.
On the 17th, Min uploaded a video to her YouTube channel showing her getting ready for work at the cafe, making drinks and sandwiches, and serving customers.
“I worked at my current place for over a year,” she said. “I didn’t think I’d end up doing it this long.” Min admitted she felt nervous and a bit self-conscious when she first started, but looking back, she believes it was one of her best decisions.
Her reason for starting cafe work connected directly to her downtime in acting. “When I didn’t have work, I shrank into myself and felt down all the time. I spent many days just staying home,” she confessed. She continued, “While working, I realized what I really wanted was to feel needed by someone. Feeling like my efforts were useful gave me energy,” she said, adding that the routine suited her better than expected and even made clocking in feel fun.
Min also shared that this was her first-ever part-time job in her 30s. “Most people do part-time jobs in their early 20s, right? I started after turning 30, so I wasn’t very brave at first,” she said. “But once I tried it, I wondered why I hadn’t done it sooner.”
She explained she’s wrapping up the cafe job because her main career is picking back up. “I’ve started getting opportunities related to my main work again. It feels like it’s time to bring this to a close,” Min said.
In closing, she reflected, “I used to live almost like a recluse, but working lifted my spirits. The past year-plus was truly meaningful — time with no regrets.”
Min debuted in 2012 as a member of Tiny-G. In 2013, she earned huge love for her appearance in the tvN drama Reply 1994. She has since transitioned fully into acting, building her career through various dramas and films.
