Riding the viral 'Catch Catch' challenge craze, actor Lee Joon is heading back to his main job: acting.
Agency Prain TPC announced on the 24th that Lee Joon will star in the short drama The Tax Reaper, a smash-hit IP that built a massive fandom through its web novel and webtoon.
Based on the original work of the same name, The Tax Reaper follows National Tax Service officer Shin Jae-hyun, who has the special ability to see others' tax evasion amounts. He hunts down the corruption of chaebol families and the elite, delivering exhilarating justice in a 'tax-collection catharsis action drama.'
Lee Joon plays investigation team leader Shin Jae-hyun, a razor-sharp strategist with unwavering convictions. Using his superpower to the fullest, he relentlessly digs into the slush funds of untouchable conglomerates, promising truly satisfying catharsis.
Speaking about the drama, Lee Joon said, "The Tax Reaper is a thrilling, feel-good ride," adding, "It moves fast yet feels fresh and exhilarating. It will feel like downing an ice-cold beer in the middle of summer."
As the casting news spread, netizens reacted hotly: "Among short dramas, this has the most intriguing premise," "I loved the original webtoon, so I'm excited," and "Finally back to his main gig—welcome back."
Meanwhile, The Tax Reaper is set to premiere exclusively on the global short-drama platform Lezhin Snack in the second half of this year.
