Singer Ben laid bare why she decided to divorce just six months after giving birth and the fear she faced before becoming a single mom.

On the 24th, a video featuring Ben as a guest dropped on singer K.Will's YouTube channel. In it, Ben cautiously opened up about her marriage, the divorce process, and how her mindset changed after raising her child alone.

"I feel like I've been through everything under the sun. Naturally, my temperament changed along the way," Ben began. She continued, "The divorce process was grueling, and closing that chapter was, of course, incredibly hard. It wasn't just a breakup with a partner — we had a child."

Ben revealed she chose divorce just six months after giving birth to her daughter. "Living with that person, I felt like I had been carrying things for four to five years," she recalled. "Because it was a marriage, not just a dating relationship, I had to be extra careful. I tried everything — enduring it, getting angry, trying all sorts of ways." During that painful stretch, her child became her anchor. "I got pregnant when things were unbearably hard. I thought, 'This child came to save me.' I felt like I could find happiness no matter what happened next," she confessed.

But the wounds kept coming through pregnancy and childbirth. "Even in those moments, incidents kept happening. The feelings of betrayal were too heavy to bear," she admitted.

Her inner conflict continued right up to the final decision. "Even when we were breaking up, I kept wavering — 'Should we not separate?' 'Is this really the right choice?'" she said of that time. "I wondered if, three years later when my daughter turns six, I'd be okay — but I realized I'd probably be wrestling with the same pain. If it's the wrong relationship, it's better to end it sooner," she explained.

Ben also acknowledged she's not good at ending relationships. "When I love, I go all in. There were many moments that shattered trust between my ex-husband and me, but because I loved him so much, the breakup was excruciating," she said, choking up. Still, her reason for choosing divorce was crystal clear. "You can't sustain a marriage on love alone. So I had to make a big decision. I still believe divorcing was the right move. I need to be whole, I need to be happy, I need to live — so my child can live too."

Ben debuted in 2010 with the vocal group Bebemignon and began her solo career in 2012. She married a businessman she had been publicly dating in 2021 and welcomed a daughter in 2023. The couple divorced in 2024.
