Four of Korea’s top female comedians are storming JTBC’s variety show Knowing Bros.
On the June 13 broadcast of Knowing Bros, Lee Kyung-sil, Jo Hye-ryeon, Kim Ji-sun, and Kim Hyo-jin — who are currently starring in the play I love you, Mom — will appear as guests. The quartet is set to shake up the Brothers’ classroom with unfiltered wit and high-energy banter.
Jo Hye-ryeon opens up about her special bond with Lee Kyung-sil. Jo says, "Lee Kyung-sil is my life mentor," adding, "She’s my senior in both divorce and remarriage," kicking off the show with bold laughs. She also shares, in her trademark upbeat style, how she leaned on Lee during tough times.
Their brutally honest childbirth talk continues. Kim Ji-sun, a mother of four, lives up to her title as the queen of childbirth stories. Kim says, "I delivered my fourth in 35 minutes and walked out," and, "By the fourth, it felt like the road was wide open," sending the studio into chaos. She adds, "A lot of people got pregnant after receiving my energy," even passing along some special luck to Lee Sang-min, sparking another round of laughter.
Kim Hyo-jin also shares her story of naturally conceiving at 45. "My second pregnancy was a miracle with only a 1–2% chance," she says, recalling the moving moment. She reveals that her first child desperately wanted a younger sibling, adding with a laugh, "Maybe they thought it’d be hard, so they told me to have a dog if not a person."
Lee Kyung-sil’s leap into acting through theater is also introduced. "I’m from Jeolla Province, but I had to use a Gyeongsang dialect in the play, which was tough," she confides, talking about the challenges of the role. Kim Ji-sun, also from Jeolla, empathizes: "It wasn’t easy for me either," before suddenly performing her lines in a North Korean dialect, cracking everyone up on the spot.
From the theater stage to raw life stories, marriages, and childbirth, Lee Kyung-sil, Jo Hye-ryeon, Kim Ji-sun, and Kim Hyo-jin are ready to spill it all — catch their no-holds-barred episode on Knowing Bros at 9 p.m. on the 13th.
