The film that went viral for Byun Yo-han’s buzz cut dedication has officially wrapped all filming and moved into post-production.
On the 25th, production company BY4M Studio announced the crank-up of Ripples, starring Byun Yo-han.
In the film, Byun Yo-han plays Park Gi-tae, who has long handled every odd job in the household. After the death of the Kwon clan’s first-born heir, Gi-tae steps up to claim the succession. Kim Jun-han plays Kwon Do-young, the late heir’s son, who is supposed to inherit his father’s business but finds his position threatened by Park Gi-tae.
Byun Yo-han recalled the intensity on set, saying, “Every single moment, every time we built a scene, it was fierce.” He added, “I’m excited for every scene, and I hope what we worked hard on reaches audiences with a wide range of emotions when it opens.”
Esom, who plays the Kwon family’s eldest daughter, Kwon So-hyun, said, “I had to keep a strong center for the character,” reflecting on the shoot.
Centered on a power struggle for the successor’s seat within the Ye-dong Kwon family, which has carried on illicit businesses for generations, Ripples is slated for release next year.
