Amid his hiatus over drug charges, actor Yoo Ah-in has reportedly locked in his comeback with the film Vampir.

The film Vampir is the latest project from director Jang Jae-hyun, who achieved major success in the occult genre with The Priests and Exhuma. Centered on a vampire hunter and a priest, the story explores tangled relationships among multiple characters, and in addition to key Korean roles, a Russian character is also expected to appear.

On the 3rd, MyDaily reported that Yoo Ah-in has finalized his appearance in Vampir. In the film, Yoo Ah-in is expected to play a vampire hunter, while Lee Sung-min will appear as a priest. Rising star Yoon Kyung-ho is also said to be joining the cast.

Previously, regarding casting for Vampir, director Jang Jae-hyun stated, "The claim that actor Yoo Ah-in will appear is completely untrue," which makes the latest casting news even more attention-grabbing.

The production is reportedly aiming to start filming in October. However, some are reacting to Yoo Ah-in's return by saying, "It's still too soon," and "They said he wasn't in the movie."

Meanwhile, Yoo Ah-in was indicted on charges of administering medical narcotics, including propofol, 181 times between September 2020 and January 2023, and of illegally obtaining and purchasing over 1,100 sleeping pills in 44 instances between May 2021 and August 2022 using another person's name. In September 2024, he was sentenced to one year in prison in the first trial and was detained at the Seoul Detention Center. In February 2025, at the appellate trial, he received a one-year sentence suspended for two years and was released after five months in custody. He has remained on hiatus since.
