Actor Ju Ji-hoon opened up about earning a coveted "10 million views" title thanks to the YouTube content 'Pinggigo'.
On the 7th, Ju Ji-hoon attended the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards handprinting ceremony held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Last year’s Blue Dragon Series Awards winners — Ju Ji-hoon, IU, Lee Kwang-soo, Yum Hye-ran, Chu Young-woo, Kim Min-ha, Kian84, Lee Soo-ji, Moon Sang-hoon, and Mimi — all gathered to leave their handprints.
Right before making his handprints, Ju Ji-hoon joked, "I washed my hands squeaky clean to be here today. I even got my cuticles removed." He added, "The rain stopped, so it feels like the weather is on our side. I’m in a fresh mood," instantly lifting the vibe on site.
Earlier, Ju Ji-hoon appeared with Kim Nam-gil and Yoon Kyung-ho in the 100th-episode special of the web variety show 'Pinggigo' on the YouTube channel DdeunDdeun. As of 3:30 p.m. on the 7th, the video had surpassed 16.19 million views, going massively viral. On this, Ju Ji-hoon said, "It feels harder to break 10 million views on 'Pinggigo' than with a movie." He explained, "Movies have VFX and huge emotional swings, but 'Pinggigo' is just us sitting down and chatting. Plus, it runs two hours — basically the length of a feature film."
Wrapping up, Ju Ji-hoon admitted, "You can analyze a movie’s box office to some extent, but 'Pinggigo' isn’t my field, so I can’t analyze it at all. It’s so fascinating." He then joked, "About 80% of the talking was Yoon Kyung-ho, so I’m happy — and a little puzzled — that 16 million people tuned in for that," drawing laughs.
Meanwhile, Ju Ji-hoon will reunite with Kim Nam-gil, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Yoo Jae-suk on the upcoming project 'Ramyun Meokgo Ollae?' ('Wanna Grab Ramyun?').
