Comedian Jeong Sun-hee is revealing a surprising past connection with junior comedian Park Myung-soo.

The July 8 broadcast of MBC’s variety show Radio Star features Lee Seong-mi, Jeong Sun-hee, Kim Young-hee, and Lee Seon-min in a special titled “Laugh Creator Crew, Ukkeukeu.” On the show, Jeong Sun-hee shares never-before-heard stories from her MBC days involving Park Myung-soo, sending the studio into laughter.

Jeong Sun-hee admits Park Myung-soo once unexpectedly flirted with her. Dressed up as a honeybee at the time, he asked if her home was owned or on jeonse (a lump-sum key-money lease) — and even whether there were any liens — showing an unusual level of interest that had everyone cracking up.

She also reveals he had prepared to confess his feelings. Park Myung-soo reportedly filled his car trunk with balloons to deliver his heart, but the confession fell through because Jeong Sun-hee didn’t show up at the spot.

Back in March, when Jeong Sun-hee was mentioned as his first love on YouTube, Park Myung-soo reacted with embarrassment, saying, “How long ago was that? What’s the point of talking about something from 30 years ago now?” At the time, Jeong Sun-hee coolly teased him in person, saying, “You’re still this flustered in front of me,” drawing laughs.

The episode also highlights Jeong Sun-hee’s heartfelt bond with Lee Young-ja. Recalling their first reunion in seven years on Lee Young-ja’s program, Jeong Sun-hee calls her both a benefactor and a mentor, grateful that Lee recognized her potential when she was a rookie.

Stories from the Happy Sunday - Heroine 5 era are a must-hear, too. Jeong Sun-hee remembers how the powerful energy of the female comedians made it tough to book guests back then. The show revisits why guests were intimidated to appear and the members’ no-holds-barred antics, vividly reviving the atmosphere of that golden variety era. In particular, she shares a wild anecdote about seeing actor Kang Dong-won’s eyes “as if he’d let everything go” at a team dinner suggested by Jo Hye-ryun.

The episode airs on the 8th at 10:30 p.m.
