After enlisting in the military last December, Song Geon-hee is already lining up his next project to keep fans engaged during his hiatus.

He has confirmed his role in ENA's new Monday–Tuesday drama scarecrow, which premieres on April 20, further cementing his status as a next‑generation youth star.

Following his breakout in the drama Lovely Runner, which proved both buzzworthy and widely popular, Song is set to move beyond his previous youth-romance image in scarecrow with deeper emotions and a more mature performance.

In the series, he plays Lee Ki-beom, the devoted boyfriend of Kang Sun-young (Seo Ji-hye), who is the sister of main lead Kang Tae-joo (Park Hae-soo). Warmhearted and principled, Lee anchors the story's emotional core with unwavering, pure-hearted love and profound devotion to family.

Song has long stood out among his peers for his natural presence and immersive acting, consistently bringing characters to life. Firmly established as a 'youth star' with a gentle image and strong inner depth, he is drawing anticipation for showcasing heightened masculine charm and richer emotional acting in this project.

Song also appeared with Seo Ji-hye in 2024 in Family By Choice as a blind-date partner. With news of his latest casting, netizens reacted, saying, "Are we finally getting their romance?" and "From blind-date guy to boyfriend."

Meanwhile, scarecrow airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on ENA and is also available on KT Genie TV and TVING.
