JTBC is gearing up to reclaim its throne as the “Drama Kingdom.”
On the 30th, JTBC unveiled a stacked drama lineup set to light up 2026. The first to drop on April 18 is Moduga Jasinui Mugachihamgwa Ssawugo Itda (hereafter ‘Mojamussa’).
‘Mojamussa’ stars Koo Kyo-hwan and Go Youn-jung. Koo plays Hwang Dong-man, an aspiring film director who is the only member of the famed cinephile circle ‘The Eight’ yet to make his debut. Go appears as Byun Eun-a, a PD at Choi Film, nicknamed ‘Axe’ for her razor-sharp script reviews.
JTBC also plans to roll out a wave of buzzy titles across genres and concepts, including The New Employee Chairman Kang, Apt., The Final Table, Gold Digger, and Beads of God. The New Employee Chairman Kang is already drawing huge anticipation with a star-studded cast of Lee Jun-young, Son Hyun-joo, Lee Joo-myung, and Jun Hye-jin. Apt. follows former gangster Hae-gang as he teams up with residents to expose corruption inside an apartment complex. The Final Table captures a fiery showdown among Korean chefs, while Gold Digger tells the tale of a dangerously irresistible young man who enters the life of a successful middle-aged woman.
Right after the lineup reveal, netizens reacted with growing hype, saying, “Please let these be well-made,” “I’m excited for the cooking drama,” and “This is the project I’ve been waiting for.”
Since last year, JTBC’s Friday series — The Nice Guy, My Youth, and Love Me — all wrapped with underwhelming average ratings in the 1–2% range, signaling a slump. The currently airing Shining is also falling short of expectations. All eyes are now on whether this newly announced slate can spark a major turnaround for JTBC.
