Actress Jun Ji-hyun is returning to the big screen after 11 years with Colony.

On the 6th, a production briefing for the film Colony (directed by Yeon Sang-ho) was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall on Hangang-daero in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Yeon Sang-ho, Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-bin, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo were in attendance.

Sharing how it feels to be back, Jun said, “I’m excited to return to film after such a long time. As a true fan of the director, I’m especially happy to greet audiences through his work.” She added, “I chose Colony not only because it’s directed by Yeon Sang-ho, but also because it’s rare to work alongside so many outstanding actors in one project. I didn’t hesitate.”

Colony follows a group of isolated survivors trapped inside a building locked down by a mysterious outbreak, fighting to stay alive against infected beings that evolve in unpredictable ways. Jun Ji-hyun plays Kwon Se-jung, a biotechnologist and the survivors’ leader, drawing major attention. Ji Chang-wook co-stars. Director Yeon also praised Ji’s performance, saying, “Watching someone that good-looking work that hard made me reflect on my own life. He truly gives it his all—there’s nothing he can’t do, from raw emotion to action—and he’s relentless.”

The film is slated to premiere in May.
