Actor Hyeri (31) is reportedly set to transform into a married woman in her next project.
On April 7, according to MyDaily, Hyeri is in talks to star in the drama Caution, Hazardous Wife.
The series is based on the 2017 NTV drama Caution, Hazardous Wife. It follows a spy wife living undercover and her husband, a black operative for the National Intelligence Service (NIS), as they navigate a razor-edge marriage under one roof. Once enemies, the two continue a dangerous cohabitation while hiding their identities and motives.
Hyeri has been offered the role of Jin Ja-young, a woman who chooses marriage as a cover. Believing that peace in the neighborhood equals peace in her own life, she personally steps in to stop troublemakers before the police arrive, protecting her quiet daily routine. But she faces an unexpected twist: the hidden identity of her model-student husband.
If confirmed, this would mark Hyeri’s first time playing a wife since her debut. Although she has taken on a variety of roles, portraying both a black operative and someone’s wife would be a first.
Reacting to the news, netizens commented, "Even if the premise feels familiar, it could be fun with the right directing and cast," and "The storyline sounds intriguing," among other responses.
Meanwhile, Hyeri is gearing up for the ENA Monday–Tuesday drama Dream to You later this year.
