News broke that actor and former Wanna One member Park Ji-hoon’s new lead project, The Legend of Kitchen Soldier (hereafter ‘Kitchen Soldier’), has officially locked its broadcast schedule.
On the 7th, iZE reported that the TVING original drama ‘Kitchen Soldier’ will premiere on May 11 at 8:50 p.m. It is expected to follow ‘Yumi’s Cells 3’ in the lineup.
Notably, as a TVING original, the series will air on television and OTT at the exact same time with no early OTT pre-release. By rolling out simultaneously across OTT and TV platforms, TVING aims to capture a much broader audience.
‘Kitchen Soldier’ is a military cooking-fantasy drama with a unique setup, charting the legendary journey of a kitchen soldier who swaps rifles for chef’s knives and ammo belts for aprons. The protagonist Kang Seong-jae (played by Park Ji-hoon) enlists to escape a harsh reality, only to encounter a mysterious virtual ‘quest’ system during his service.
Park Ji-hoon’s next move is drawing major attention. He recently joined the 10-million-viewer club with the film The King’s Warden. After portraying King Danjong in that hit, fans are eager to see his transformation into a kitchen soldier.
Fans are already buzzing: “Danjong oppa’s daily life,” “We can watch it on OTT right away,” and “I’m only waiting for ‘Kitchen Soldier’.”
