As actress Ji Ye-eun and dancer Vata’s relationship went public, “rebound dating” allegations began swirling around Vata—prompting his agency to step in with an official statement to shut the rumors down.

On the 15th, Aera, the label behind Vata’s crew We Dem Boyz, stated, “The recently raised rumors are baseless and not even worth addressing,” adding, “We have refrained from responding, but as false claims have been spreading indiscriminately, we are setting the record straight.” They continued, “The claim that he was in a six-year relationship is untrue, and the most recent relationship and breakup happened three years ago.” The agency emphasized, “If the spread of such false information continues, we will take strong legal action.”

The controversy erupted right after the couple’s relationship was revealed, spreading across online communities. Old posts resurfaced claiming he started dating immediately after breaking up with an ex, and some of these posts—so-called “proof posts”—went viral.

Earlier, Ji Ye-eun’s side quickly acknowledged the relationship after initial reports. On the 13th, her agency CP Entertainment said, “The two, who had long been colleagues, recently began seeing each other with good feelings,” making the relationship official. Both born in 1994, they reportedly grew closer through their entertainment work and a shared faith, eventually becoming a couple.

Meanwhile, Ji Ye-eun debuted in 2017 through a web drama. Since then, she has been active on Coupang Play’s Saturday Night Live Korea and SBS’s Running Man. Vata rose to fame through Mnet’s 2022 hit Street Man Fighter and has drawn attention for choreographing hit songs for artists like Zico, Jennie, Kang Daniel, and SEVENTEEN.
