Singer-actress IU revealed the eating habits that keep her in shape despite a packed schedule — and her not-so-great cooking skills.

On the 15th, a new video featuring IU dropped on Chef Ahn Sung-jae's YouTube channel. The two cooked together while sharing a wide-ranging, candid conversation.

"By the time I get home from work, it's usually late at night, so I end up craving a late-night snack," IU said. "I love high-calorie food too, but when my schedule is packed, I can't keep eating like that," she added, opening up about how she manages her diet.

As a lighter alternative, IU recommended soft tofu cheese jeon — a savory pancake made with soft tofu and cheese. "I love soft textures, and with soft tofu in it, it's lower in calories and still tastes great," she said. "I eat it often when I have something on the schedule the next day." She added that she discovered the recipe on YouTube and has been using it consistently.

The talk turned to her usual eating habits. When Chef Ahn asked if she enjoys cooking, IU admitted, "When I first started living on my own, I had fun trying all sorts of dishes, but I gradually realized I'm not very good at it," laughing shyly. She added with a smile, "I even made stews and braised dishes for my family, but no one would eat them."

"At some point, I switched to keeping things simple," IU confessed. "At home, I mostly eat ramen — it's my favorite food." Still, she set clear boundaries for herself: "Ramen can feel heavy if I eat it too often, so I only have it when I really can't resist."

Meanwhile, IU is currently starring in the MBC drama Perfect Crown alongside Byeon Woo-seok.
