Rookie actor Won Kyu-bin is reportedly stepping in for Lee Jung-ha, who exited due to military enlistment.
According to SPOTV News on the 16th, Won Kyu-bin will join the Disney+ original series Moving Season 2 (hereafter 'Moving 2') as Kim Bongseok, the role previously played by Lee Jung-ha.
At a recent full script reading that gathered a large number of cast and crew, Won Kyu-bin was also in attendance, signaling the official start of production.
The recast became unavoidable as the production timeline for 'Moving 2' overlapped with Lee Jung-ha's enlistment schedule. While fans are disappointed that Lee—who won massive love in Season 1 for his perfect sync with the character—could not return, the production opted for a bold move by casting a rookie. This season is expected to place greater focus on newly added characters and the adults' stories. As Kim Bongseok's screen time will reportedly be smaller than before, the team appears to have made a daring pick with a lesser-known newcomer.
Chosen as the new Bongseok, Won Kyu-bin (born 2004) is a rookie who officially debuted in 2025 through the web drama Bitch x Rich. Before his formal debut, in 2023 he appeared on the YouTube web-variety show Hong Seok-cheon's Jewel Box under the name Lee Min-gyu, drawing attention for his handsome visuals. Before joining 'Moving 2', he is set to appear this June in tvN's new drama Back to Work!, playing college student Lee Jae-in, giving home viewers a first look at his acting.
Reactions online are sharply divided. On community boards, some lamented, saying, "The producers lost their touch" and "I can't imagine Bongseok as anyone but Lee Jung-ha." Others countered, "A complete rookie is better for immersion than a half-baked casting," expressing hopes for the fresh face.
Meanwhile, with its main casting largely set, 'Moving 2' has kicked off full-scale production, starting with the table read.
