Hollywood star Anne Hathaway opened up about a special behind-the-scenes story with Meryl Streep and expressed her deep gratitude.

On the 15th, tvN's variety show You Quiz on the Block featured the two leads of the film The Devil Wears Prada 2, who reunited after 20 years and spilled behind-the-scenes stories from filming.

From the moment she appeared, Anne Hathaway made everyone laugh, greeting Yoo Jae-suk by saying, "I saw you in a commercial yesterday." Sharing how it felt to return for the sequel, Meryl Streep said, "It felt like meeting old friends again," adding, "The characters have grown more three-dimensional over the years." Anne Hathaway agreed: "I'm completely different from when I was 22," she said. "It was even more special to work again with the same team."

What grabbed the most attention was a behind-the-scenes detail from the first film. Meryl Streep revealed that she deliberately kept her distance from Anne Hathaway to fully embody her character. "If I get too chummy on set, it's hard to maintain the character's authority," Streep explained. "I chose to isolate myself so I could stay focused on Miranda."

Anne Hathaway had a surprising reaction. "That choice actually helped me a lot," she emphasized. At just 22 at the time, Hathaway recalled, "I didn't really understand acting yet, and I was very affected by my surroundings. The moment Meryl walked in, the tension shot up, and I naturally sank into my character."

She added, "Back then, I was honestly frozen, thinking only, 'I can't mess this up.' Just having Meryl exist as Miranda created the best environment for my performance," she said, expressing her thanks. "It was only after filming ended that I got to know the real Meryl—she's warm and has a great sense of humor," she added, showing deep respect.

Meryl Streep responded to Anne Hathaway's words, saying, "Thank you for remembering it that way." It was a moment that reaffirmed the trust and bond the two have shared for years.

Meanwhile, The Devil Wears Prada 2, starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, will meet audiences on the 29th.
