Singer Jamie opened up about the highs and lows of her past public relationship and breakup.
On the 19th, stand-up comedian and writer Danny Cho featured Jamie as a guest on his YouTube channel, where they covered a range of topics. Asked, "Is there a memory you wish you could erase from the internet?" she didn’t hesitate: "Going public with my relationship."
Explaining why she chose to make it public at the time, Jamie said, "I was in my 20s and wanted to try it at least once. I always had to hide my relationships and only go on dates at home. I had just become independent from my company and felt freer, so with the blazing mindset of my 20s, I decided to go public."
But the reality didn’t match her expectations. "Looking back, nothing was left—it all just burned out. I wish I hadn’t done it," she admitted.
She also regretted how she handled things after the breakup. "Oversharing the reasons we broke up was my biggest cringe moment. I should’ve ended it coolly, but I got emotional and explained everything in detail—it wasn’t a good look," she said. She added, "If I could go back, I wouldn’t go public in the first place."
Regarding her ex, Jamie was firm: "I had zero lingering feelings. As soon as I learned about his behavior, I ended it right away."
Jamie publicly acknowledged her relationship in 2022 with influencer Koo Min-cheol, a former special forces soldier, which drew attention at the time. She later hinted at his infidelity on social media, effectively confirming their split. While her raw, honest posts sparked major buzz then, she now admits she regrets that approach.
Meanwhile, Jamie won the SBS audition program K-pop Star in 2012, rose to fame, and debuted as the duo 15& with Baek Yerin. She is currently active as a soloist.
