Coupang Play has turned up the hype by dropping the first teaser trailer for the new variety show Bonjour Bakery.
Bonjour Bakery is a healing variety program set in Korea’s first senior-only dessert cafe, newly opened in a quiet rural village, where seniors and celebrity cast members share warmth and comfort. The unique premise of serving French desserts against a familiar countryside backdrop is eye-catching on its own.
The teaser released on the 21st captures seniors trying desserts for the very first time, their faces lighting up like children. Even when faced with unfamiliar food, their curious expressions and happy smiles continue, hinting at heartwarming moments to come. A sudden ID check scene playfully reveals that this is a seniors-only dessert cafe, further stoking curiosity.
The cast lineup is star-studded. Kim Hee-ae, in charge of front-of-house operations, melts hearts with warm eye contact and thoughtful care for the seniors. Kim Seon-ho blends in naturally with guests through his trademark friendly charm, signaling a standout presence. The kitchen is helmed by Cha Seung-won and Lee Ki-taek, who craft art-like desserts using Korean ingredients, set to captivate both the eyes and the palate.
The production team is equally impressive. PD Park Geun-hyeong, known for human-centered storytelling through 'You Quiz on the Block' and 'Korean Hostel in Spain,' reunites with writer Kim Ran-ju, who worked on hit shows like '2 Days & 1 Night' and 'Infinite Challenge.'
Meanwhile, Bonjour Bakery premieres on Coupang Play at 4 p.m. KST on May 8.
