Maggie Kang, the director who sparked a global craze with the Netflix original animation KPop Demon Hunters (hereafter 'KDH'), has signed an exclusive contract with The Present Company and is launching full-scale activities in Korea.
On the 23rd, The Present Company stated, "We are thrilled to work with director Maggie Kang, who combines global sensibilities with exceptional creativity. We plan to develop a wide range of projects based in Korea," adding, "As a creator who has proven the power of K-content to the world, Maggie Kang will receive our full support so she can continue to shine as a leading figure representing Korea."
Born in Korea and raised in Canada, Maggie Kang is a skilled creator who honed her craft as a story artist at global animation studios. In particular, 'KDH,' which she directed, surpassed 500 million cumulative streams on Netflix, setting a record-breaking milestone.
Behind this exclusive deal is said to be Kang's special connection with The Present Company actor Ahn Hyo Seop. Earlier, Ahn participated in 'KDH' as a voice actor, building deep trust with director Maggie Kang—an experience that reportedly became the decisive springboard for this partnership.
Meanwhile, The Present Company represents a roster of top stars, including Ahn Hyo Seop, Shin Se-kyung, Kim Seol-hyun, and Park So-dam.
