Actors Park Eun-bin, Cha Eun-woo, Choi Dae-hoon, and Im Seong-jae unite as delightfully offbeat superpowered misfits.

On the 23rd, Netflix amped up anticipation by unveiling character posters and a teaser trailer for its new original series The WONDERfools.

The WONDERfools is a superpowered comedy-adventure drama set in 1999 at the turn of the millennium. It follows a group of bumbling neighborhood misfits who accidentally gain special abilities and struggle to protect the world against a villain threatening their peaceful town.

The newly revealed character posters are designed like character cards that capture the punchy personalities of the four-member 'Team WONDERfools'. Leading the pack is Chaeni (Park Eun-bin), who can teleport; joined by Unjeong (Cha Eun-woo), who wields telekinesis; Gyeong-hoon (Choi Dae-hoon), who has sticky-binding powers; and Robin (Im Seong-jae), who boasts super strength—each flaunting a wildly different ability at a glance.

The accompanying teaser opens on a playful note: Chaeni, Gyeong-hoon, and Robin are peeling onions on the street, while Unjeong sits a distance away. The trio use their powers to craft a three-line acrostic poem, relentlessly teasing Unjeong. His deadpan attempts to ignore them spark rapid-fire tiki-taka banter that delivers big laughs.

In the final moments, the ominous line "The end is coming," shots of people praying, and the friends of Haeseong City resolving to join forces flash in quick succession—intensifying curiosity about how they will navigate the chaos of end-times fever at the turn of the century.

Meanwhile, as Cha Eun-woo's comeback project amid a recent tax evasion controversy—after fully paying 13 billion KRW in back taxes—the series is drawing intense attention. The WONDERfools will release all episodes on May 15.
