From 'melodrama queen' to 'horror queen,' Kim Hye-yoon teams up with rising talent Jang Da-ah—and their film has just raced past 1.6 million moviegoers, celebrating the milestone with a special fan event.

On the 23rd, distributor Showbox confirmed that Salmokji has surpassed a cumulative 1.6 million admissions. Achieved just 16 days after release, the team announced a special thank-you stage greeting on Labor Day (May 1) to repay fans for their overwhelming support.

In a viral twist, the stage greeting will follow an 'over-immersion' concept that mirrors the film’s universe. Kim Hye-yoon, Lee Jong-won, and other key cast members are set to appear in the exact outfits of their in-movie company, 'Onroad Media,' supercharging fans’ anticipation.

As the unconventional plan made headlines, netizens reacted with buzzworthy comments: "A K-office-worker concept that has you clocking in on a holiday?", "I have to go to this stage greeting," "Genius planning—total slay," and "Promo wizards."

Meanwhile, since its April 8 release, Salmokji has stirred up a full-on 'horror syndrome' at the box office, propelled by its nerve-racking pacing and powerhouse performances—and it continues its acclaimed run.
