The Village Barber is set to return with a second season, following a strong run that resonated with viewers both locally and globally.

The tvN variety show, which concluded on April 3, follows Park Bo-gum, Lee Sang-yi, and Kwak Dong-yeon as they operate a barbershop in a rural village in Muju. Each member took on a specific role—haircuts, customer service, and daily operations—building natural teamwork as they connected with residents.

More than its premise, the show stood out for its tone. Through everyday interactions, it captured the gradual closeness between the cast and the villagers, with conversations unfolding naturally over time. Even after filming wrapped, the cast revisited the village, reinforcing the authenticity of those relationships.

The finale focused on farewells, with small gestures—photos, letters, and shared meals—highlighting the bonds formed throughout the show. The exchange between cast and residents gave the ending a quiet emotional weight.

That response was reflected in performance metrics. The show ranked No. 1 in its time slot among the 20–49 demographic for several consecutive weeks and maintained strong buzz rankings. Online content also accumulated significant views, while international distribution expanded its reach across multiple regions.

The filming location itself has since gained attention as a local destination, bringing increased foot traffic to the area.

With this momentum, the production team has confirmed Season 2, which is currently in preparation and targeted for release in the second half of the year.
