The on- and off-screen breakout group Migak Boys is reportedly set to take over the Blue Dragon Series Awards stage.
According to Sports Kyunghyang on the 15th, the project group Migak Boys, born from the TVING original series The Legend of Kitchen Soldier (hereafter 'Kitchen Soldier'), will light up the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards with a celebratory performance on July 31.
Migak Boys is a fictional project group that appears within 'Kitchen Soldier.' In episode 6, which aired on May 26, the group sprang to life during a scene where battalion commander Hwang Seok-ho (played by Lee Sang-yi) takes one bite of cook Kang Seong-jae (played by Park Ji-hoon)'s arancini rice ball and, overwhelmed by bliss, imagines his awakened palate like an idol music video.
Comprised of "Bitter Cheoncheol" Kang Ha-kyung, "Spicy Seung-woo" Lee Sang-jun, "Sweet Mun-ik" Lim Ji-ho, "Sour Sang-uk" Kang Joon-gyu, and "Salty Ji-yong" Kim Moon-gi, Migak Boys performed the in-show track 'My Flavor' with irresistible charm, smooth choreography, and flawless teamwork—instantly stealing viewers' hearts.
Their song 'My Flavor' is a playful, high-energy dance track that stimulates the five basic tastes ('omi') both visually and sonically. Riding explosive popularity, it was officially released as a digital single on May 27.
As fans clamored for a real music-show stage, Migak Boys answered the call on June 11 with a surprise appearance on Mnet's M Countdown, delivering a stylish, high-quality special stage.
Netizens reacted with excitement, saying, "I'm dying to hear the follow-up track," "Is Lee Sang-yi joining too?", "Their talent is too good for just one stage," and "I'll be cheering with a rice paddle."
Meanwhile, the buzzworthy 'Kitchen Soldier' will wrap its run with the finale airing on the 16th.
