Shocking team-up: Director Jang Hang-jun, who joined the "ten-million director" club with the film The King's Warden, is officially joining comedian Yoo Jae-suk's new variety program.
According to industry sources on the 14th, Jang will co-host KBS2's upcoming variety show Happy Together - I'm glad I'm not alone with Yoo Jae-suk, ahead of its July premiere. This is the first time the two will share hosting duties.
Happy Together, which first aired in 2001, is one of KBS's flagship variety shows beloved by the public for about two decades. It spawned numerous hit segments like 'Tray Karaoke', 'Sauna Talk', and 'Late-Night Snack Bar', becoming a national favorite before ending in 2020 and entering a long hiatus. The new season is set to return with a bold makeover, shifting from its classic talk format to a team-based audition concept.
Jang's addition is the biggest attention-grabber. With The King's Warden, he drew over 16.42 million moviegoers, cementing his status as a hit-making director. Having already showcased steady hosting skills on tvN's Encyclopedia of Useless Facts series, expectations are high for his on-screen chemistry with Yoo Jae-suk.
