Lucas has officially parted ways with SM Entertainment, marking the end of his exclusive contract and signaling a new phase in his career.
On April 24, SM Entertainment announced through the fan platform Weverse that “our exclusive contract with Lucas ended as of April 24.” The agency added, “We cherish the time we’ve spent together since his trainee days and after debut,” and expressed support for his future endeavors.
Lucas, who is Hong Kong–born, debuted in 2018 as part of NCT U and later expanded his activities through global units including WayV and SuperM. He gained attention for his stage presence and visuals, building a strong international fanbase.
In 2021, allegations regarding his personal life surfaced, leading him to suspend activities. After an extended hiatus, he officially left NCT and WayV in 2023 to pursue solo work.
In 2024, he released his first solo single ‘Renegade.’ With the conclusion of his contract, he now faces another transition as he moves forward independently.
Attention is now focused on Lucas’s next steps following his departure from SM Entertainment.
