Park Bo-young is drawing attention for her transformation in the Disney+ series ‘Golden Land,’ where she takes on a crime genre role for the first time.
On the 27th, the series held its press conference with Park Bo-young, Kim Sung Cheol, Lee Hyun Wook, Kim Hee Won, Moon Jung Hee, Lee Kwang Soo, and director Kim Seong Hun in attendance.
Speaking about her decision to join the project, Park explained that she was drawn to the genre shift and the opportunity to present a contrasting image. She also shared that she underwent weight loss at the director’s suggestion to better reflect her character’s background and emotional state.
Kim Sung Cheol discussed their dynamic in the series, noting the frequent use of “noona” in the script, which helped shape their on-screen relationship. Park responded that the repeated use of the term added a new layer to her experience during filming.
‘Golden Land’ follows Hee-joo (Park Bo-young), who becomes entangled in a high-stakes situation involving gold bars linked to a smuggling operation. The series is scheduled to premiere on the 29th, with two episodes released weekly.
