Actress Lim Ji-yeon is set to take on a new role that may surpass her portrayal of Park Yeon-jin in ‘The Glory.’
On the 27th, SBS’s new Friday–Saturday drama ‘Brave New World’ released stills of Lim Ji-yeon as Shin Seori.
‘Brave New World’ follows nameless actress Shin Seori (played by Lim Ji-yeon), who becomes more aggressive after being possessed by the spirit of a legendary Joseon-era villainess, and chaebol heir Cha Segye (played by Heo Nam-joon), described as a ruthless figure shaped by capitalism.
In the released stills, Shin Seori appears in a modern setting, marking a clear shift from her past image. In one scene, she throws a laundry bat at an attacker without hesitation, emphasizing the character’s fearless nature. The role blends elements of a historical villainess with a contemporary survival-driven personality.
Online reactions included comments such as “The character feels very strong,” “Is this another Yeon-jin-type role?” and “Looking forward to the performance.”
Meanwhile, the 14-episode ‘Brave New World’ premieres on May 8 at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS and will also be available on Netflix.
