Ahead of its premiere, Disney+ original series Gold Land dropped stills on the 28th capturing Park Bo-young and Lee Hyun-wook’s precarious relationship.

The newly released photos show the two drawing so close they’re just a breath away from a kiss—instantly igniting buzz. Their relationship faces a crisis triggered by a 150 billion won gold-bar case, cranking up the suspense.

Gold Land is a survival thriller about Hee-joo, who gets her hands on a smuggling ring’s 150 billion won in gold bars and fights to keep it amid a hellscape of greed and betrayal. Directed by Kim Sung-hoon and written by Hwang Jo-yoon, the series stars Park Bo-young, Kim Sung-cheol, Lee Hyun-wook, Kim Hee-won, Moon Jeong-hee, and Lee Kwang-soo.

After the almost-kiss stills of Park Bo-young and Lee Hyun-wook dropped, some reactions included, “There’s absolutely no reason not to watch,” and “Finally—just one day left.”

Park Bo-young plays Kim Hee-joo, a woman trying to break free from a troubled past. Lee Hyun-wook appears as Lee Do-kyung, the man who once reached out to Hee-joo. In the story, the two carry on a secret office romance, but the 150 billion won gold-bar incident threatens to fracture their relationship.

Park Bo-young explained, “Do-kyung is someone I can’t tell if I loved or just held on to because I wanted to escape,” while Lee Hyun-wook added, “For Do-kyung, Hee-joo is both the final stop and a haven, but that choice could lead to the most dangerous consequences,” revealing the complexity of their bond.

Meanwhile, Gold Land will premiere with Episodes 1 and 2 on the 29th, then drop two episodes every week, for a total of 10 episodes.
