According to global OTT chart aggregator FlixPatrol on the 16th (KST), as of the previous day, major new releases from Korea and abroad dominated the upper ranks across both Netflix and Disney+ in the Films and TV Shows categories.

First up, in Disney+ Films, the animated feature Hoppers, released on the 3rd, landed at No. 1. It follows animal lover Mabel, who uses cutting-edge tech to transfer human consciousness into robot animals, uncovering mysteries of the animal world as she bonds with a beaver. Families are raving. Directed by Daniel Chong, the film features voice and on-screen performances by Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, and Jon Hamm. At No. 2, a special behind-the-scenes documentary-style video for Toy Story 5 proved the franchise’s unwavering power.

In TV Shows, MBC’s Perfect Crown is the standout. This romance-fantasy charts a contract marriage between a chaebol heiress and a modern crown prince who possesses only the title, as they seize control of their fates. Boasting a star lineup including IU, Byun Woo-seok, Roh Sang-hyun, and Gong Seung-yeon, the drama has held strong global rankings even a month after its finale. Despite backlash over alleged historical distortion during its run, it achieved extraordinary results. However, the controversy hasn’t fully died down — on the 15th, news broke that the long-awaited Blu-ray release was ultimately canceled, reigniting debate.

On Netflix Films, Office Romance rose to No. 1. The story follows Jackie, an airline CEO who enforces strict company policies, only to find her principles — and heart — tested when a new lawyer arrives. Viewers praise its slick, grounded take on the push-and-pull between work and love, calling it a "strikingly relatable story." In second place is Colors of Evil: Black, which tackles the heavy subject of a child disappearance investigation in a remote Polish village, starring Jakub Gierszał and Marianna Zydek. Director Adrian Panek earns acclaim for weaving dark mystery with sharp social themes.

In TV Shows on Netflix, Korean originals are posting eye-catching results. Teach You a Lesson sits at No. 1. The series follows unconventional inspectors who appear the moment respect collapses in the classroom, solving extreme problems one-on-one. Powerful performances from Kim Mu-yeol, Lee Sung-min, Jin Ki-joo, and Pyo Ji-hoon shine under director Hong Jong-chan’s detailed touch. Overseas viewers are also saying, "It’s far more immersive than expected" and "It delivers real catharsis."

At No. 6 is My Royal Nemesis, a wildly inventive rom-com about an infamous Joseon-era villainess who possesses the body of a modern actress and clashes with a cold-hearted chaebol heir. Starring Lim Ji-yeon, Heo Nam-joon, and Jang Seung-jo, and directed by Han Tae-seop, its time-leaping romance and comic beats are winning over younger viewers.

With blockbusters from multiple countries trading places at the top, K-content like Perfect Crown, Teach You a Lesson, and My Royal Nemesis continues to show unstoppable strength in the global OTT market — once again proving the power and reach of Korean storytelling.
