Singer-actor Park Ji-hoon is ditching the hanbok and tying on an apron — and fans are already buzzing.
On the 4th, the TVING original series The Legend of Kitchen Soldier (hereafter 'Kitchen Soldier') dropped a viral-worthy 'Gangrim Outpost' welcome poster, teasing Park Ji-hoon’s dramatic transformation and building massive hype just a week before launch.
'Kitchen Soldier' is a military cook-show fantasy K-drama that follows Private Second Class Kang Sung-jae (played by Park Ji-hoon), an apron-clad newbie who rises to become a "legendary" kitchen soldier. After accidentally becoming the unit’s "baby cook," his eye-catching growth sparks curiosity about how he’ll pull off a stunning culinary breakthrough.
The newly revealed welcome poster captures each character’s glowing aura against a mystical, cloud-like backdrop. Front and center, Kang Sung-jae stands confidently in a crisp chef’s uniform, flashing a self-assured smile that raises expectations for the jaw-dropping dishes he’ll serve up in the unit.
Gathered around him are seven service members who preview the dynamic daily life at Gangrim Outpost: First Sergeant Park Jae-young (Yoon Kyung-ho), First Lieutenant Cho Ye-rin (Han Dong-hee), Sergeant Yoon Dong-hyun (Lee Hong-nae), Captain Hwang Seok-ho (Lee Sang-yi), Sergeant Kim Gwan-cheol (Kang Ha-kyung), Lieutenant Colonel Baek Chun-ik (Jung Woong-in), and Colonel Bae Won-young (Ahn Gil-kang). Their mix of lighthearted smiles and steely determination hints at a story that swings between humor and high stakes.
Adding to the warmth, the line "Welcome to Gangrim Outpost" feels like a personal invitation from the unit members to viewers waiting for the premiere.
Based on the hit Naver Webtoon of the same name, 'Kitchen Soldier' is set to premiere simultaneously on TVING and tvN on the 11th at 8:50 p.m.
