A surprise update on NewJeans member Minji just dropped.
On May 5, multiple online communities reported that Minji made an unannounced visit to a fan-organized birthday cafe.
According to those posts, ahead of her May 7 birthday, Minji delivered homemade cookies, four-cut photo booth strips, and a handwritten letter prepared for fans at the venue.
The letter read, "Hi, Bunnies (official fandom)! It’s been a while. Have you been doing well—staying cool and having fun?" She continued, "A lot has happened and there’s so much I want to say, but I hope today is a happy day—for now and going forward! Let’s stay together. Thank you always, Bunnies."
Fans reacted, saying, "When is Minji coming back?", "I miss the NewJeans members", and "Her visuals are still unreal."
Meanwhile, NewJeans announced the termination of their contract with ADOR in November 2024 and later lost the first trial last October regarding the validity of their exclusive contract. Since then, members Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni have confirmed their return, Danielle was notified of contract termination, and Minji is currently discussing whether to return.
