In a development sure to spark fresh controversy, ADOR has partially revised the damages it is seeking in its lawsuit against NewJeans member Danielle and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin (now CEO of OK Records).
Recently, ADOR submitted to the court that it was reducing the claimed amount in its damages suit against Danielle, one of Danielle’s family members, and former CEO Min—from 43.09 billion KRW to 33.09 billion KRW.
ADOR stated, "A new legal representative was appointed, reviewed the case, and restructured the claims; accordingly, the amount sought was adjusted and modified." The next hearing in the case is scheduled for the 11th.
The lawsuit was filed in December last year, with ADOR alleging losses caused by NewJeans’ departure and delays in their return.
Previously, NewJeans demanded the reinstatement of former CEO Min. When that request was rejected, they began independent activities in November 2024, citing ADOR’s breach of their exclusive contract. However, on October last year, the first-instance court ruled in ADOR’s favor. The NewJeans members then dropped their appeals and, one by one, expressed their intention to return.
ADOR, however, notified Danielle that it could no longer maintain her contract and moved to terminate it. Currently, three NewJeans members have finalized their return to ADOR, while Minji is reportedly in discussions over specific terms for her comeback.
