Actors Yoo Hae-jin and Ryu Seung-ryong each won the Grand Prize in the film and television categories at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards.
The ceremony took place on May 8 at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
With Shin Dong-yup, Suzy, and Park Bo-gum as MCs, Yoo Hae-jin clinched the Film Grand Prize for his powerful turn as Eom Heung-do in the movie Wang-gwa Saneun Namja. He said, "I was content with supporting actor awards and just wanted to keep working hard, but I'm so grateful to receive such a big award like this." He also thanked Park Ji-hoon, who starred alongside him as Danjong.
The TV Grand Prize went to Ryu Seung-ryong for the drama The Dream Life of Mr. Kim. He shared, "If we can find a little empathy, forgiveness, and courage in the everyday things given to us, I believe we can become gifts to one another."
At this year's Baeksang Arts Awards, You and Everything Else (Drama), No Other Choice (Film), Rookie Director Kim Yeon-koung (Variety), and Docu Insight - Our Time Is Shining (Culture & Current Affairs) won in their respective Best Work categories. In particular, You and Everything Else also took home Best Screenplay, earning two crowns.
Best Leading Actor and Actress in Film went to Park Jung-min and Moon Ga-young, while TV's Best Leading Actor and Actress went to Hyun Bin and Park Bo-young. The Best Director honor was awarded to Yoon Ga-eun for helming the film Segyeui Ju-in.
