In a shocking twist to the NewJeans legal saga, ADOR has reportedly appointed four new legal representatives.
On the 12th, MyDaily reported that ADOR recently retained four attorneys from LIHAN Law Firm and immediately submitted a motion to change the court date.
The five Kim & Chang attorneys who had been representing ADOR throughout withdrew en masse on April 24, leaving vacancies now filled by LIHAN.
The newly appointed LIHAN Law Firm is drawing even more attention as it is also defending HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk in an alleged Capital Markets Act violation case.
Back in December, ADOR notified Danielle of the termination of her exclusive contract and filed a damages suit reportedly worth around ₩43 billion (approximately $31 million). ADOR maintains that Danielle’s side and Min Hee-jin bear significant responsibility for NewJeans’ departure issues and delays in their return, and says it will hold them legally accountable.
Meanwhile, the Seoul Central District Court will open the first oral hearing at 3:10 p.m. on May 14 to formally examine both sides’ arguments. This marks the main trial, coming about two months after the initial preparatory hearing held on March 26.
