Ex-NewJeans member Danielle’s legal representatives at HwaWoo have released their stance — and they’re calling recent “double contract” rumors false and distorted.

On the 6th, Team Berniz posted to social media the official statement they received from HwaWoo. According to the statement, after Danielle’s July 2 hearing, some outlets referenced alleged Chinese capital and reported as if Danielle had signed a second exclusive agreement with an outside company or tried to conceal it — claims the firm says are untrue.

HwaWoo stated: “This issue stems from a normal process during the 2025 NewJeans dispute, where a third party formally delivered an ADOR share-sale proposal to HYBE. Malicious reports mixed in falsehoods to distort that process. Danielle and the other NewJeans members never signed, nor attempted to sign, duplicate exclusive contracts with any company.” They added, “Assertions made by ADOR’s attorney differ from objective facts, and they distort or exaggerate the factual relationships.”

Danielle’s defense team further said, “We suspect ADOR’s influence may have been involved in the way facts were twisted and spread — especially how matters concerning all NewJeans members were reported as if they were Danielle’s solo actions.” They emphasized that ADOR’s line of argument is nothing new and said they expect the court to reach an accurate legal decision based on evidence.

Meanwhile, on the 2nd, the Seoul Central District Court’s 31st Civil Division (Presiding Judge Nam In-su) held the third hearing in ADOR’s claim for liquidated damages and compensation against Danielle, former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin (now CEO of OKAY Records), and Danielle’s mother, Ms. Mo. In oral arguments, ADOR’s legal counsel claimed Danielle, unlike other NewJeans members, unilaterally pursued musician activities such as recording a collaboration track with Emotional Oranges and commercial activities including Pictorial shoots — allegedly breaching her exclusive contract with ADOR.

ADOR initially sought approximately 43.1 billion KRW in liquidated damages and compensation from the three, but after changing counsel, adjusted the claim to about 33.1 billion KRW.
