Shocking lineup shake-up: Comedian Lee Yong-jin has joined KBS2 variety 2 Days & 1 Night Season 4 (hereafter '2 Days & 1 Night'), restoring the show’s six-member system.
On the 18th, the '2 Days & 1 Night' team officially announced the addition of Lee Yong-jin and actor Lee Ki-taek, saying, "The two will form a new lineup with existing members Kim Jong-min, Moon Se-yoon, Lee Joon, and DinDin." The refreshed six-member cast is set to kick off full-scale activities with their first recording on the 22nd.
Lee Yong-jin’s casting is drawing extra attention thanks to his unique history with the show. He previously appeared as an intern during Season 3 and, despite a brief stint, left a strong impression. With his quick wit, unpredictable reactions, and sharp game sense that once captivated viewers, expectations are high for what he’ll deliver as a full-time member.
The production team praised Lee as an all-round entertainer with both hosting skills and standout character work, calling him a key player who will supercharge the members’ rapid-fire banter. With rising rookie Lee Ki-taek also joining, fans are eager to see the fresh chemistry he’ll build with the current cast.
With this revamp, '2 Days & 1 Night' embraces a more diverse mix of personalities and a better-balanced team. The producers expressed confidence that the two new members will inject fresh energy and change into the long-running program.
Meanwhile, Lee Yong-jin and Lee Ki-taek’s first trip together will air on the 7th of next month.
