On May 28, agency PLEDIS Entertainment announced that THE 8 and Vernon will drop their first unit album on June 29, officially kicking off activities. The unit name V8 combines Vernon's initial V with THE 8's signature number 8, capturing the relentless energy and drive of a powerful 8-cylinder engine.
Hype is already surging before their official debut. Through the month-long 'V8 HUNT' challenge, fans worldwide sparked a trend by spotting the letter V and the number 8 in everyday life, fueling anticipation for the unit's launch.
Right after the album release, the duo will meet fans at their own standalone shows. They will hold '2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE' at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1, Hall 1 in Goyang, Gyeonggi on July 1112, then at AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 10 in Hong Kong on the 1819, expanding their footprint on the global stage.
Beyond group promotions, both artists have already proven their individual artistry. THE 8 has explored diverse genres and artistic concepts, including his Chinese EP 'STARDUST,' while Vernon has earned recognition through collaborations with multiple artists and mixtape releases. In particular, Vernon has solidified his credentials as a creator, becoming a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).
