After a dramatic weight-loss transformation that sparked the “skin-and-bones” label, actress Kim Min-ha is making a bold return to the big screen.

On the 28th, the team behind Hana Korea confirmed the theatrical release date and unveiled two first-look posters.

Hana Korea, written and directed by Danish filmmaker Frederik Sølberg, is a film inspired by a true story that follows the perilous journey of North Korean defector Hye-seon (played by Kim Min-ha).

The newly released posters come in two striking themes. First, the blue-toned “Arrival” poster captures Hye-seon just after landing in South Korea by plane. Kim Min-ha’s nuanced facial acting conveys the whirlwind of emotions she feels in an unfamiliar world.

Next, the red-toned “Beginning” poster simultaneously reveals Hye-seon’s inner anxiety and steely resolve as she steps into a new life, stoking even more curiosity about the film.

Anticipation is high for Kim Min-ha’s emotionally resonant performance to amplify immersion and deliver a powerful punch. Hana Korea is slated to open in theaters on July 8.
