On June 9, the Heart Signal 5 team said it is "verifying the facts" regarding allegations surrounding certain cast members and added, "We recognize the seriousness of the matter." They continued, "Regardless of the outcome, we are carefully reviewing the involved cast member's future screen time and participation," and apologized: "We sincerely apologize for causing concern to our viewers."
The controversy began with a post on the anonymous workplace community Blind. The author claimed that a female contestant, referred to as A, "is in an inappropriate relationship with a married man and is a defendant in a damages lawsuit for alienation of affection." The post further alleged that A had a partner when she applied for the show and maintained a relationship with a specific married man during filming, even visiting his residence during the shooting schedule before returning to the show's lodging.
Although the original post has since been deleted, it spread rapidly across online communities and social media, fueling the uproar. Some netizens speculated that the dating program in question is the currently airing Heart Signal 5, which further amplified the allegations.
