Netflix’s series Get Schooled is making major waves worldwide, but opinions over its quality are sharply divided.
Get Schooled is a drama set in a school system where teachers’ authority has collapsed, following the work of the Teacher Authority Protection Bureau. Starring Kim Mu-yeol, Lee Sung-min, Jin Ki-joo, and P.O, it has drawn intense buzz — even topping Netflix’s Global Non-English TV chart.
Recently, Jin Ki-joo promoted Get Schooled on her Instagram. The Korea Customs Service chimed in, saying, "Spent the weekend at home watching. The algorithm — ‘Get Schooled’ — has taken over everything!" highlighting just how popular the series has become.
However, on the 11th, critic Wi Geun-woo harshly criticized the work on his social media. In response to an article lamenting Jin Ki-joo’s acting in , Get Schooled, he wrote, "If the work itself isn’t a gem but crap, how can that be a flaw in the gem?"
Additionally, some point out that because the original webtoon for Get Schooled was previously embroiled in controversies over racism and feminism, there are growing concerns that the drama adaptation may reinforce stereotypes about certain groups.
