LABOUM’s Haein stunned fans by revealing how she first met her husband.
On the 29th, Haein posted a short video on her Instagram with a message along the lines of, “So many of you asked, so I’m sharing the story of how we met and got married.” In the clip, she looks back on the moment she first met her now-husband and opens up about how their love story began.
“I first met him when I was a 19-year-old trainee,” Haein began. “I had already joined as a trainee, and a new trainee came in — that person is now my husband.”
At first, she greeted him and tried to make small talk, but the company soon issued a strict no-talking rule between male and female trainees, she explained. “Of course, at the company, we wouldn’t even make eye contact. I told myself I should just focus on practice,” she recalled.
Their connection continued outside the company. “We kept running into each other at the subway station — even heading in the same direction,” she said. “I kept debating whether to say something, and time just went by.”
In the end, Haein was the one who made the first move. “I started the conversation. At the station, I asked, ‘Where do you get off?’” she explained. After that, the two gradually grew closer while taking public transportation together. “Rather than flirting, we mostly talked about our futures and our dreams,” she said. “We had a lot in common, so we slowly became friends. We didn’t show it, but I think we both liked each other.”
Just as they were getting closer, her husband suddenly stopped coming to the practice room. “He just stopped showing up,” Haein said. “Later I heard he quit being a trainee and enlisted in the military. There was no goodbye. I thought I’d never see him again.” She added, “But a few years later, I got a message I never expected,” teasing that there’s more to the story. “If you want to hear the rest, leave a comment. I’ll bring the next chapter,” she promised.
Haein debuted with LABOUM in 2014 and married her now-husband in November 2023. She welcomed her first child in May 2024 and, in April last year, welcomed her second, becoming a mother of two.
