WINNER’s Kang Seung-yoon is reportedly set to resume his acting career after four years, sparking hot buzz among K-Drama fans.
According to an exclusive by Xportsnews on the 1st, Kang Seung-yoon is slated to appear in the KBS2 weekend drama Off to School, which is expected to air next year.
He has reportedly been offered the role of Yoon Ok-hee’s son — with Lee Jung-eun playing Yoon Ok-hee.
Off to School tells the story of a big-hearted, meddlesome mom who enters college later in life and boldly maps out a second act for herself. Alongside Lee Jung-eun, Yoo Jun-sang, Choi Soo-young, and Jeon Sung-woo have also been reported to join the cast, drawing major attention.
YG Entertainment and KBS both commented that they “cannot confirm” his casting at this time.
Kang Seung-yoon began acting in 2011 through the MBC sitcom High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged and continued to build his filmography after debuting with WINNER. His most recent project was the 2022 KBS 2TV Drama Special 2022 - The Season of Undies. If confirmed, this would mark his return to the small screen four years after the KBS one-act drama.
Meanwhile, Off to School is scheduled to premiere in the first half of next year.
