Rapper Truedy and former pro baseball player Lee Dae-eun opened up about the growing rift in their marriage after childbirth.
Their couples YouTube channel recently posted a new video showing the pair laying bare their pent-up feelings and attending couples counseling to repair their relationship.
The conflict stemmed from childcare and day-to-day communication. Lee said, "We never fought while we were dating," adding, "Now, I wake up annoyed." Truedy explained, "I’m more sensitive because I’m exhausted," but Lee confessed his frustration: "If you’re struggling, you’re struggling—I don’t understand why you take it out on me."
Truedy admitted that after giving birth, she took on most of the childcare and housework and started expecting more support from her husband. Fighting back tears, she said, "I just want to hear something warm like 'You did great,' but that’s been lacking." She added, "I’ve been really hurt by his tone and his words," drawing sympathy.
Lee also shared his side. "I spend more time at home than most husbands, and we eat out together four or five times a week," he said. "I feel like I’m doing my part, but it’s overwhelming when she still wants me right by her side even at home."
Eventually, the two sought professional help. During the session, Truedy began to cry as she said, "I’ve always lived thinking everything was my fault." The specialist responded, "It seems you’ve carried a serious sense of deprivation for a long time. From your husband’s perspective, it may look like you’re fine, but in reality that may not be the case."
The clinician added a sobering assessment that Truedy "appears to be experiencing depression."
After counseling, the couple stepped away from routine to reconnect—playing games at a PC cafe, then trying soccer and a mission game to share each other’s interests. While their issues aren’t fully resolved, they seemed to be taking small steps toward understanding.
Truedy and Lee dated for four years before marrying in 2021 and welcomed a son in November last year.
