Shocking and hilarious—Hwang In-youp says he’s wearing a school uniform for the “last” time in his new K-drama, then quickly walks it back.

At the ENA Monday–Tuesday series Dream to You press conference held on the 7th, he joked, “I’ve said many times that my previous project would be my last school-uniform role, so I’m sorry to show up in a uniform again,” drawing big laughs. He added, “I really wanted to do a rom-com, and I waited for a script that let me tell the best story. Dream to You was such a great concept that I couldn’t pass it up—even if it meant putting on a uniform again—so I’m sorry, but I did it one more time.”

MC and broadcaster Park Kyung-lim teased, “This is an official setting—be careful. Can you declare this will be your last school-uniform role?” Hwang In-youp firmly replied, “The last,” making everyone laugh. In contrast, Hyeri reacted positively to school-uniform roles, saying, “In my early 20s, I didn’t actually play many characters who wore uniforms. I wore them more in my late 20s. I was worried it might not suit me, but it’s not as bad as I thought.”

Hearing that, Hwang asked, “Can I correct myself?” and revised his stance: “If I’m cast in a good project, I’ll give it my all and do my best.”

The reunion romance of genius film director Woo Soo-bin (played by Hwang In-youp), who returns after achieving his dream, and breadwinning reporter Joo I-jae (played by Hyeri), who has forgotten hers, Dream to You premieres on the 13th at 10 p.m. It will also be available on Genie TV and TVING.
