Netflix’s dating reality Better Late Than Single 2 is going viral after unveiling a wildly unique lineup of contestants — from diehard idol stans to full-on 2D otaku.

In episodes 1–3, released on the 7th, contestants who have never dated for a variety of reasons made their debut. Among them, 27-year never-dated contestant Choi Yeon-seo introduced herself as an otaku, admitting, "I went to an arts middle and high school, so I didn’t have many chances to meet men outside the 2D world."

Choi Yeon-seo named 'Gintama,' 'Blue Lock,' and 'Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun' as her favorite works. She revealed that Hijikata Toshiro from 'Gintama' has been her bias for over 10 years, and picked dark hair, cat-like eyes, and a serious yet straightforward personality as her ideal type. Hearing this, Lee Eun-ji reacted with surprise, asking, "We’re in 2D territory again?" while Kang Han-na added, "She’s the real deal, too."

Choi Yeon-seo confessed that her calm demeanor and low energy made her insecure about dating. "Don’t guys like someone cute and bubbly?" she worried, but still vowed, "I want to try dating. This time, I’ll make a bold move," showing strong determination to end her never-dated streak.

An idol-fan contestant also drew attention. Jeon Seo-yoon, who has never dated in 29 years, said she’s a fan of NCT DREAM’s Jisung. "Because I’m into idols, I couldn’t date," she explained, adding that her 'stan cells' and 'dating cells' feel like they run on the same energy.

Jeon Seo-yoon’s prized collection was also revealed. Showing off signed CDs, photocards, birthday limited-edition merch, and concert tickets, she proved her next-level dedication by saying she even follows the group to overseas shows.

'Some-maker' Lee Eun-ji suggested a balance game. Asked to choose between her NCT bias’s birthday party and a one-year anniversary date with her boyfriend, Jeon Seo-yoon picked the birthday party without hesitation. Even if her boyfriend’s birthday clashed with a fansign, she answered, "I’d head straight to Jisung," shocking the studio.

Still, Jeon Seo-yoon said that if her boyfriend felt hurt, she’d change her phone wallpaper for him, and if an NCT livestream started during a date, she’d watch the replay later — signaling real intent to date. "My desire to date is at 100," she said, adding, "I have two tickets to NCT DREAM’s Nagoya concert, and I want to go with my boyfriend so we can catch the show and turn it into a trip."
