Actor Lee Jun-young fully transforms into a brilliant yet ill-fated pianist.
On July 9, tvN unveiled new character stills and a student record for Choi Jeong-yo (played by Lee Jun-young) in the upcoming Sat–Sun drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas, immediately grabbing attention from prospective viewers.
The record notes, “Though he has never been formally trained, his instincts and skills are exceptional,” and “Expected to bring fresh energy to the piano department,” hinting at Choi Jeong-yo’s extraordinary talent.
In the stills, Choi Jeong-yo looks indifferent in class, but a faint smile appears when he faces the piano, revealing his hidden, genuine love for music.
In the story, Choi Jeong-yo has weathered life’s storms early and charges headfirst into whatever comes his way. Unbothered by others’ eyes or rigid rules, he lives by his own code—until he meets his same-age counterpart, piano prodigy Kang Biu (played by Song Kang). After witnessing Kang Biu’s overwhelming performance, the passion for the piano and his long-buried dreams roar back to life. He then transfers to Korea Arts High School, where a special bond forms between them.
Netizens reacted to the photos with comments like “Looks like there’s a lot of backstory,” “The family history seems sad,” and “This character has me excited.”
Portraying two youths who naturally seep into each other’s lives through the shared medium of the piano—and delicately tracing the fine line between friendship and deeper feelings—Four Hands, Two Sonatas premieres August 29 at 9:10 p.m. and will also stream on TVING.
